Thanks to a worldwide economic slump, the price of a barrel of oil has plummeted to nearly $40.

Some analysts are predicting oil could fall all the way to $20 a barrel, pushing gasoline prices down as low as $1 a gallon by next year.

That's great news for American consumers, and bad new for some of America's adversaries like Venezuela, Iran and Russia.

But can cheap gas hurt the American economy, too?
