Students from Northern Illinois University hosted another candlelight vigil in the aftermath of last week's deadly shootings.

They were joined in spirit by another campus that knows all-too-well about school shootings.

Many states away in Blacksburg, Va. more than 1,000 people from Virginia Tech held a vigil of their own.

Tech students also marked the night by exchanging their orange and maroon for NIU's red and black.

One group called "Hokies United" plans to send care packages to Northern Illinois' "Huskies" filled with candy and snacks.
