After over 60 years, a World War II vet has received a priceless piece of his history from a generous stranger.
Bill Miegel served as a special hump pilot during the war, flying troops and supplies over the Himalayas.
His squadron was issued special jackets with a rare patch offering a reward for their safe return. But the historic jacket was mistakenly given away by Bill's wife after the war.
Thanks to the couple's friend who posted a cash reward - and the kindness of a son of a fellow hump pilot - Miegel didn't get his jacket back but did get the next best thing: two original patches like those from his special jacket lost so many years ago.
