The president of the Creation Museum said the museum must now employ security guards to protect exhibits and visitors.
Ken Ham said the organization's message that God created the universe as well as Adam and Eve less that 10,000 years ago has prompted the need for more security.
The security team uses hidden cameras, uniform and plain-clothed officers as well as trained dogs to look for explosives.
So far, there have been very few arrests or incidents of vandalism.
The museum located near Cincinnati has had 330,000 visitors since it opened 10 months ago.
