Many Americans don't get enough sleep at night, making driving drowsy more of a problem on our roads.
One survey found 37 percent of all adult drivers have fallen asleep at the wheel, and that drowsiness contributes to some 56,000 crashes a year.
In fact, driving drowsy is so dangerous that if you're awake for 24 hours, then you are as impaired as someone with a .01 alcohol level.
"Most people know the dangers associated with drinking and driving. however driving drowsy can be just as dangerous as driving drunk," Troy Green of the American Automobile Association said.
Studies show that drowsy drivers are to blame for 1,500 deaths a year.
