Want all the details about Jenna Bush's planned nuptials on Saturday? Forget about it. That's what a White House spokesman told the press Thursday.
President Bush flew to Texas to prepare for his daughter's wedding, which will be held at the family ranch in Crawford.
"Be assured that there will be absolutely no readout of the wedding, whatsoever," Gordon Johndroe said, when asked about coverage of the ceremony. "This really is a private event for the family."
The President reportedly has been joking for weeks about his role as the "Father of the Bride." Now, he will begin playing the part.
Few Details
There are a few details of the ceremony that have been made public. The wedding will take place outdoors in the evening. Later, the White House will release an official photo of Jenna and her new husband, Henry Hager.
The soon-to-be Mrs. Hager will wear an Oscar de la Renta bridal gown. Floral arrangements and other items needed for the wedding and the reception are being flown in to the remote Texas town.
Most of the local folks are not invited, but they say they are celebrating anyway.
One resident compared it to the royal wedding of Charles and Diana in Britain. He says there is a similarity -- in Crawford, the Bushes are considered royalty.
