Almost six months after the tragic death of his youngest daughter, contemporary Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman celebrated a great milestone with his eldest -- her wedding.
Tanner and Emily (Chapman) Richards were married Oct. 4 at the Chapman home in Franklin, Tenn.
Chapman's 5-year-old daughter Maria Sue was killed in a car accident in front of the home in May. She was buried in her bridesmaid dress to match those worn at her oldest sister's wedding.
Chapman's son Caleb performed the artist's song "Cinderella," which was inspired by his four daughters. The song is about a dad watching his daughter grow up and the importance of cherishing every moment before it's gone.
Maria Sue was one of three girls the Chapmans adopted from China. The family's strength after her death served as inspiration to many, and led to millions of dollars in donations to Shaohannah's Hope, the family's charity for adoptive families.
Chapman was recently nominated for Belifnet's Most Inspiring Person of the Year Award. The popular Christian site will name the winner of the award in December.
