CBNNews.com - A former lesbian who became a born-again Christian was found in contempt of court Monday for refusing to give unsupervised visitation of her biological daughter to her former lesbian partner.

Lisa Miller, of Virginia, says she does not want her six-year-old daughter Isabella to be influenced by Janet Jenkins, her former partner who lives in Vermont.

Miller could be imprisoned or face steep fines for refusing Jenkins visitation. But the Vermont judge withheld ruling on punishment until a later date.

The judge did order a new temporary visitation schedule for the holidays.

CBN News spoke with Liberty Counsel Attorney Matt Staver about the case.

"It's a very difficult situation for a mother who sees her daughter having a wonderful, carefree life, but then thrust into the midst of a homosexual environment coming back with nightmares, bed wetting episodes, fear, anxiety and even desires to hurt herself to continue to put that child back in that same environment," Staver said.

"So you can imagine any parent would be concerned over those situations. But particularly a parent who sees their daughter exposed to a homosexual lifestyle that is very confusing to begin with," he said. "This is the kind of situation that Lisa is having to face in this matter and it's a very difficult case and a very difficult situation."

Miller told Life Site News that she believes "God is in control" and that God has protected her and Isabella for the last five years and believes he will continue to do so.
