Bride's Ike Story Points to God's Faithfulness

Thousands of Texans are trying to start over after Hurricane Ike. One couple even lost their wedding day to Ike. However, the bride says God's sovereign goodness prevailed over the storm.

When Ike blew through Texas, the storm knocked out power, flooded streets and washed away at least one wedding day.

"I got pretty upset that weekend trying to figure out what we were going to do and everybody was wanting to get us to postpone it," said Lori Wilson.

If that wasn't enough stress for the bride to be - her fiance Chris was in an accident due to the hazardous weather.

"The insurance adjuster told us that 90 percent of flipped vehicles end in fatalities," Wilson explained. "So he was like it's a miracle that you were all ok."

Ike and the accident didn't stop this determined bride. She worked quickly to plan a home wedding.

However, that made the honeymoon a loss with no extra money to pay for a new trip. That's when another wedding blessing came lori's way.

"She called me and she said Travel Masters is going to give you a honeymoon and I almost passed out i was so excited."

Travel Masters' Sharon Kay Howell says she had to help.

"When I got the e-mail about Lori's situation. it just touched my heart," she said.

Howell and her team searched for locations that would be a good deal and make a great honeymoon for Lori and Chris.

"I had all kinds of destinations being yelled out in the hallways. 'I got Boston. I found San Diego. I found Tampa.' It was really a neat thing to see our team embrace," Howell said.

The sun and sand of Florida won out in the end.

"White beaches!," Wilson exclaimed. "We don't have to fight seaweed."

"Its been our joy to be involved just in a small way in the story and the wedding," Howell explained. "We wish them well and hope that they really start off their married life on a great foot and a great note."

"A lot of people would be explain how Hurricane Ike messed up everything, but in a way it just allowed other people to help us and show God 's love," Wilson said.

Then God did even more than Lori hoped for or ever imagined.  The Clearwater, Florida hotel where they were staying upgraded the couple to the "King" suite.
