President Bush is praising religious groups for a quick response to Hurricane Gustav.
He said faith-based volunteers answer the "universal call to love a neighbor as you'd liked to be loved yourself," and said that they made the same effort they did for Hurricane Katrina.
Bush added that the victims of the storm appreciate the work done by total strangers coming in to help.
And he told Louisiana residents that America is praying for them.
Bush could see downed trees and street signs from his motorcade. He also saw damage from above while in Air Force One.
"All in all, the response has been excellent," Bush said, but acknowledged that "there is more work to be done."
