CBNNews.com - NEW YORK CITY - Under the banner, "Ahmadinejad, why are you executing children," U.S.-based Iranian groups plan to protest the visit of the Iranian president to the United Nations General Assembly.
The rally, which will be held Tuesday in the plaza in front of the U.N. headquarters, features a "wall of shame" with photos of jailed minors being abused in the Islamic Republic.
Event organizer Nazanin Afshin-Jam, head of Stop Child Executions Campaign, said the Iranian government has put six children to death by hanging in the past year, and 130 more are on death row.
According to Afshin-Jam, the focus on Iran's nuclear program has overshadowed the inhumane treatment of its children.
