Miss California says her honest answer about same-sex marriage cost her the Miss USA crown Sunday.
The question came from Miss USA judge and gay gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
"Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage -- do you think every state should follow suite?" he asked.
"I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anyone out there," she answered.
Carrie Prejean, a student at San Diego Christian College, came just short winning the crown.
And Hilton -- using foul language and insults -- admitted on his blog that Prejean's answer lost her the contest.
Prejean told radio host Billy Bush that if she could do it all over again she would give the same answer.
"It did cost me my crown, but I don't care, I stood up for what I believe in," she said.
And in response to Hilton's vulgar insults, Miss California simply said she will be praying for him.
