A Miss USA pageant spokesman denies that Miss California was told to apologize for her statement opposing same-sex marriage at the pageant.
Carrie Prejean claimed that producers of the state pageant wanted her to apologize to the homosexual community and not talk publicly about her religious beliefs.
But a pageant representative says Prejean was told to say she didn't mean to offend anyone. They also wanted her to use the national spotlight to heal some wounds.
