CBNNews.com - Governor David Paterson is making another push to legalize gay marriage in New York but the measure will face heavy opposition in the legislature.

Patterson is expected to introduce the bill Thursday.

It is the same bill that was turned down in 2007 and opponents are vowing to turn it down again.

Paterson said the measure is necessary because gays and lesbians are denied certain civil protections because they are not married.
