A bus driver in Iowa said she will not drive a bus that carries an atheist advertisement.
The sign on the bus reads, "Don't believe in God? You're not alone." Similar signs have been placed on buses across the country as part of an ad campaign.
The Des Moines Regional Area Transit authority suspended the driver, Angela Shiel, for her defiance. The agency said it cannot cater to driver preferences.
The Iowa Family Policy Center told CBN News that local Christians are closely following the case.
"Everyone seems to be aware of it," said Bryan English of the Iowa Family Policy Center. "There's great interest in this story and how it's going to turn out. Although, like the bus driver, I don't think there's any of us who are overly surprised that she had to face a suspension over this."
Some passengers in Des Moines have also refused to ride any buses that sport the atheist ads.
