A Virginia mother could face jail time for refusing to allow her 7-year-old daughter to see her former lesbian partner in Vermont.
Ex-lesbian Lisa Miller returns to court this week after her former girlfriend, Janet Jenkins, filed another motion to gain custody of Miller's child, Isabella.
Isabella was conceived while the two women were living together in Virginia.
Miller became a Christian and does not want her daughter exposed to the homosexual lifestyle.
Attorney Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel is representing the mother. He told CBN News the stakes in this case have never been higher.
"The future of Isabella is now hanging in the balance more than ever before and Lisa stands the chance of possibly spending time in jail," he explained. "This is a heart-wrenching situation where the mother, Lisa, knows that putting her child in an activist lesbian lifestyle is harmful for her."
"Isabella is the pawn in this agenda for Janet and and Lisa stands to be put in jail and have her own daughter literally ripped away," Staver added.
Hearings are scheduled for Friday in Vermont and next week in Virginia.
