An Oklahoma congregation is in mourning after their pastor was discovered dead inside her church early Sunday morning.

Pastor Carol Daniels' remains were found in the Christ Holy Sanctified Church, located 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. 

Authorities currently have no leads or suspects, but are treating the death as a homicide. 

As investigators continue to search for clues, a community is left wondering why someone would have murdered Daniels.

"I didn't think it was for over something that happened in the church," Mictchell Pendarvis, one of the church's neighbors, told Oklahoma City television station KWTV.

You've got those guys that drink and sit in the alley really have nowhere to go and hanging around that alley," Pendarvis said. "I don't know what to think and I'm trying to think, I mean who would do this to this woman?" 

Daniels was in her mid-50s and resided in Oklahoma City.
