Many families are facing a much leaner Christmas due to this year's recession. 

CBN's Operation Blessing International helped to bring some of these families some holiday cheer.

The charity aid organization teamed up with the U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots campaign,and the Salvation Army's Angel Tree. Altogether, they helped hundreds of families feeling the financial pinch.

Dozens of volunteers showed up at a recent distribution in Norfolk, Virginia.

Operation Blessing delivered more than 52,000 pounds of food to help families have a holiday meal. In addition, more than 200 families came through each hour to pick up toys and clothes.
