Former Colorado mega-church pastor Ted Haggard has returned to the pulpit.
Three years ago, Haggard resigned from New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. after an alleged relationship with a male escort.
Now Haggard is holding services in his barn next to his home in Colorado Springs where it's standing-room only.
Many congregants are former or current members of his former church.
"I love a good redemption story," Elly Kraai, a former New Life member, told the Los Angeles Times. "I'm seeing one playing out here."
However, Haggard's return to preaching is not without controversy.
According to the Times, he reportedly did not complete a church-mandated "restoration process."
One blogger wrote last month, "By quitting his five year restoration program, I believe he has spurned the oversight and recovery that God intended for him. When you break with church discipline and set out on your own, God will let you fall."
Still, Haggard insists he's ready to use his story of repentance and forgiveness to help others.
"If they'll give me the grace to earn trust again, I will earn it," he said.
