Most are familiar with the classic holiday episode, "A Charlie Brown Christmas."
Now, one California town is turning a shabby tree like the one Charlie Brown made famous into an opportunity to bless others.
Concord, California, like most cities across the nation, is facing tough financial times. To save money, city officials decided to decorate an existing tree rather than pay $20,000 for one to be brought in this year.
The once green tree, however, is now looking rather frail.
The city said the tree's become an opportunity to embrace a "Charlie Brown" Christmas.
They're encouraging blanket donations to help those in need.
