CBNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - Three Arab youths assaulted and knifed an American Jewish student when he inadvertently entered an east Jerusalem neighborhood.
The student, participating in a program called "The Israel Experience," was returning to Hebrew University's Mount Scopus campus when he asked the youth, in Hebrew, for directions.
After they slashed his face and neck with a utility knife, he ran to a nearby gas station, where an ambulance transported him to the city's Shaare Zedek Hospital.
The assault took place at 1:00 a.m. in the Arab neighborhood of Ras el-Amud, just outside Jerusalem's Old City.
The student, whose name was withheld pending parental notification, is from Washington, D. C.
