The number of people filing for unemployment continues to rise faster than expected.

The labor department says 667,000 newly-laid off people filed for first time unemployment insurance last week.

That brings the total number of Americans receiving unemployment benefits to 5.1 million.

The lines are getting longer at job fairs across the country.

In New York, a group called "Women for Hire" is allowing unemployed men to attend for the first time ever.
