The Gideons are celebrating a 100-year milestone.

Over the last century, the non-denominational evangelical group has given out more than a billion Bibles.

The Gideons began placing Bibles in hotel rooms back in 1908.

They've continued to donate them to military and other organizations, and about 60 percent of their Bibles are given to students.
