The man suspected to be the serial killer responsible for several murders near the town of Gaffney, South Carolina has been identified.
41-year-old Patrick Burris was shot to death by police officers while responding to a burglary complaint in Gastonia, North Carolina early Monday.
The town of Gastonia is located about 30 miles from Gaffney.
Burris' prison records have revealed that he was paroled just two months ago after serving seven years in prison on felony charges.
Police said bullets found in Burris' gun matched those that killed five residents in and around Gaffney last week.
