North America's tallest building has a new tourist attraction.
The Skydeck opened Thursday at the top of Chicago's historic Sears Tower.
The glass Skydeck, referred to as "The Ledge," are balconies that extend about four feet from the building.
The clear glass floor gives visitors a bird's eye view 1,300 feet above the streets of The Windy City.
Tower officials said people have been asking to look straight down at the ground from the top floor for years.
The balconies can hold five tons and the glass is an inch-and-a-half thick.
Sears Tower officials said the inspiration for the balconies came from the hundreds of forehead prints visitors left behind on Skydeck windows every week.
The balconies are just one of the big changes coming to the Sears Tower. The building's name will change to the Willis Tower later this summer.
