Why Americans Don't Trust Their News Media

Late CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite was considered "the most trusted man in America."

Back then, Americans had a much higher opinion of the news media than they do today.

Earlier this year, an NBC-Wall Street Journal poll revealed only 8 percent of Americans had a "great deal" of confidence in the media, while 18 percent said they had "no confidence at all."

The numbers are almost the exact opposite of what they were in 1976 -- in the wake of the Watergate scandal.

CBN News spoke with Dan Gainor of the Business and Media Institute about this distrust of the media in the U.S.
