Many consider church bells one of the sweetest sounds there is but a church bishop in a Phoenix, Ariz. neighborhood served jail time for ringing his church bells.
Neighbors sued Cathedral of Christ the King Church, saying the bells are too loud and ring too often, thus violating the city noise ordinance.
The bells rang at the top of every hour from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
But not any more.
The judge said no more ringing the church bells except only for two minutes on Sunday, and even then no louder than 60 decibels.
Then the judge sentenced the bishop to ten days in jail, suspended.
The bishop is considering an appeal.
