The founder of the Crystal Cathedral is passing his leadership role to his eldest daughter.

A spokesman for the California church says the Reverend Robert Schuller announced Sheila Schuller Coleman will take over leadership of the entire ministry.

The 10,000 member Crystal Cathedral was founded more than a half-century ago.

In 2006, Schuller named his son to take over the church, but The Associated Press reported Schuller's son left abruptly last year after a split with his father.

Schuller's son, Robert A. Schuller and Chris Wyatt, the founder of GodTube.com created their own company ComStar Media Fund. The company recently purchased the American Life TV Network. The two men say they have plans to make it "the destination for family values."
