The Public Broadcasting Network is banning its stations from airing any new religious programming.
They are however allowing a few stations to continue religious shows already in place.
This effects many PBS stations that broadcast local church services on Sunday but until now it has never been defined or enforced.
PBS has always had a rule that says stations must broadcast "nonsectarian" programming, an original proposal that had the potential to ban all religious programming.
But the board instead decided to only prohibit any new religious shows.
