After months of rumors, it's now official-- Jon and Kate Gosselin of the TV show "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" announced Monday night that they are divorcing.
"It's a shame and I will always love her as the mother of my kids," Jon Gosselin said. "We're not running away from them, we're just living our separate lives."
The Gosselins are the parents of eight-year-old twins and five-year-old sextuplets. The couple's increasingly troubled 10-year marriage has dominated their cable reality series in recent weeks.
It's a sad story that's being played out in the national spotlight. Now, some are growing concerned for the Gosselins' eight children.
Family therapist Dr. Linda Mintle spoke with CBN News about the potential impact a divorce can have on the young celebrity kids.

"I will not lay down and die. I will go on for my kids and I will say it to my dying day. They matter so much to me," Kate Gosselin said. "And if I have to pull this whole ship on my own, I'm going to do it. I will survive and they will survive."
The Gosselins and The Learning Channel say the series will continue with each parent's segments of the show taped separately.
