An Ohio school teacher has filed a $1 million federal lawsuit, after being fired over accusations that he preached Christianity in class.

Eighth grade teacher, John Freshwater, says his free speech and civil rights were
violated.

He also says he was harassed because of his faith.

The Mount Vernon school board claims an internal investigation found Freshwater had preached his Christian beliefs in class.

The teacher is also accused of keeping a Bible on his desk and using a scientific device to burn a cross image onto a student's arm.
