Hundreds of conservatives who have left the U.S. Episcopal Church are meeting in Texas this week.
They will form what they say will be the 39th province in the worldwide Anglican Communion.
The new province will be led by the former Episcopal Bishop of Pittsburgh, Robert Duncan. A spokesman said Duncan will oversee more than 700 congregations with a weekly attendance of about 100,000.
Evangelical pastor Rick Warren of California's Saddleback Church is scheduled to speak to the group Tuesday.
