CBNNews.com - The threat of flooding from the rising Red River has forced officials to consider all options of defense including a strategy used in combat, a portable wall system.
It was constructed this week in Fargo, N.D. to help protect people along the Red River from flooding.
The wall is similar to one that has successfully shielded troops in Iraq and Afghanistan from bullets.
The four-foot high wall system comes complete with wire fencing and it is lined with plastic and filled with sand.
The latest projection has the Red River cresting at 40 feet by the end of the week.
An emergency dike only goes up to 42 feet.
