Since 2003, more than 4,000 U.S. troops have been killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But behind this terrible loss of lives, there are numerous stories of faith and courage.

It is a subject author and historian Jane Hampton Cook tackles in her new book Stories of Faith and Courage from the War in Iraq and Afghanistan.
