The Fort Hood shooting suspect is now awake, breathing on his own and able to talk, as more information about his Muslim background and possible ties to terrorists emerges.
ABC News reported U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan was attempting to make contact with al Qaeda.
The Army psychiatrist also worshipped at the same mosque as two of the Sept. 11 hijackers.
The London Daily Telegraph also reported Hasan allegedly gave a lecture to other doctors saying non-Muslims should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
