Ohio Village Cancels Annual Christmas Parade

Ad Feedback

An Ohio village is cancelling its annual Christmas parade because of protests and legal concerns.

Amelia City Council members were told the village could be sued for using public money to sponsor an event celebrating the birth of Jesus.

The town had considered having a "holiday" parade instead, but even that idea drew protests.

And a local church refused to let its parking lot be used as a staging area.

The Amelia Business Association has sponsored the Christmas parade and says there just aren't enough volunteers this year.
