Sarah Palin took a break from her book tour Sunday to have dinner with Rev. Billy Graham at his home in North Carolina.
In addition to praying together, Palin and Graham discussed issues like Israel, Iraq and Iran.
The 91-year-old praised Palin for her faith and said God is using her to wake America up.
"I, like many people, have been impressed with her strong commitment to her faith, to family and love of country," he said in a statement. "I appreciated hearing her speak of her own spiritual journey and her life in Alaska."
Graham shared his memories of preaching in Alaska more than 20 years ago.
"Life in the spotlight is not easy and I pray that whatever lies ahead for this family that their faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ, would remain strong and that God would put a hedge of protection around her and all those she holds dear," he said.
Palin made the stop on her way to Fort Bragg, N.C., to promote her new book, Going Rogue: An American Life.
