The Walmart Foundation is trying to take a huge bite out of America's growing hunger problem.

This week CBN News reported on the rising demand at food pantries across the country.  Feeding America, the nation's largest food bank, says demand for emergency food is up 30 percent this year.

Walmart is making donations to both Feeding America and Meals on Wheels. The retailer has also deployed 35 refrigerator trucks fully loaded with food to food banks across the country.

In addition, the mega retailer's foundation also gave $2.2 million to Meals on Wheels to help feed our nation's seniors.

The company says the program known as "Walmart Gives Back" is a $32 million holiday giving initiative that will provide monetary and in-kind donations to charitable organizations across the U.S.
