The leader of the community organization group ACORN is defending her company in the wake of recent controversies.
Undercover videos have surfaced in the past month showing ACORN employees counseling people on how to get around tax laws for their prostitution business.
ACORN's Chief Executive Officer Bertha Lewis said she and her group have been the target of partisan attacks.
"This modern day ACORN McCarthyism has got to stop," Lewis said. "Last week members of Congress were asked are you now or have you ever been a member of ACORN."
Lewis added that she was already in the process of rooting out bad employees when the video tapes surfaced.
The group is being investigated by several states and the federal government.
