Arizona police are looking for an Iraqi man who they say "mowed down" his daughter and a her friend with his car.
The incident happened in a parking lot in Peoria, Ariz.
Police say 48-year-old Faleh Hassan Almaleki's 20-year-old daughter was leaving a building with a friend when he hit both women with his Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Family and friends told police Almaleki was upset his daughter was becoming "too westernized" and not following traditional Iraqi values.
"He was not happy with her and apparently was very mad at her because she was not following the traditional family values and had made threats against her and apparently yesterday he followed through with that threat," a family friend said.
Almaleki is still on the run.
His daughter is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but her friend's injuries were not severe.
