Pro-life groups protested outside the White House Tuesday as President Barack Obama met with pro-choice Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
Zapatero has said he wants to legalize abortion in Spain. He also proposed a bill that would allow teens as young as 16 to get abortions without the consent of their parents.
Protestors chanted in unison reminding the Spanish leader that his mother chose life.
"Life matters and is very, very important," one protestor said.
"We stand with the people of Spain in support of life," said Wendy Wright of Concerned Women for America. "As Americans we know how destructive abortion is and once it's allowed, then the number of abortions increase."
Pro-life groups in Spain will march against abortion this weekend.
