The closure of the Oakland Bay Bridge has created a long commute for some drivers in San Francisco.

Engineers discovered a crack in the bridge over the weekend and they will not re-open it until the problem is fixed.

Now city officials are anticipating gridlock as thousands of drivers will be forced to take alternate routes to work.

City employees are working around the clock and plan to have the bridge re-opened by 5 a.m. Pacific Time Wednesday.
