An Amherst, Va., girl is credited with saving her father's life while he suffered a seizure.
Back on July 2, Lexi Campbell dialed 911 while her father Mark Campbell was having a diabetic seizure. She even made sure his airway was cleared.
It was a tense first few moments for Campbell.
"Daddy, help is on the way. Daddy, calm down, calm down, Daddy, help is on the way. Help is on the way, it's okay Daddy," Campbell said during the 911 call.
Emergency dispatchers said Campbell is an example to other 911 callers. She stayed calm, followed directions, made sure her father's head stayed elevated.
"Help is on the way. Help is on the way. I called 911. Help is on the way Daddy. I love you," she continued through the call.
Campbell is recognized as a local hero and received a deputy's badge by Amherst County Sheriff Jimmy Ayers.
"They think I was a hero," she said.
