A 14-month-old girl was killed after a fight broke out at a Minnesota church.

The incident happened during a recent prayer meeting at Thy Kingdom Come Church in Wheaton, Minn.

David Collins, 56, was upset that the church's pastor, Danny Barnes, had purchased a washer and a dryer for another family, instead of him.

Collins attacked the couple with a baseball bat during a prayer service. The couple's daughter, 14-month-old Aundrea Hankins was struck and killed during the fight.

Collin's wife said her husband did not see the girl when he swung the bat at Hankins.

The child's father wants people to learn a lesson from what happened.

"There's already enough violence out here and it's just too many young kids paying for it and we're paying for it," Claud Hankins said.  "I want the people to understand that this could happen to pretty much any family or anywhere, that's how this world has become and I don't want our daughter's death to be in vain."

Collins has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted second degree murder and one count of second-degree assault.

Hankins said he forgives Collins and that he cannot stay angry and expect to have a productive life, always moving forward.
