A Muslim group is calling for evangelist Franklin Graham to be removed from a National Day of Prayer Service on Capitol Hill.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Graham's past criticisms of Islam are divisive and intolerant.
Graham was recently uninvited from a Day of Prayer event at the Pentagon. However, a spokesman for the Capitol Hill Day of Prayer observance said Graham's will not be rescinded.
Shirley Dobson, chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, issued a statement saying Graham is a "well-respected public figure and humanitarian" and it's "ridiculous" for detractors to ask that he be disinvited.
"Moves to exclude any member of this great family from this prayer event represent everything that is wrong with the agenda of political correctness that is rampant in our country," she said.
