A new television documentary entitled "Beasts of the Bible," brings together Bible scholars and zoologists for a fresh perspective on the animals found in scripture, such as Jonah's whale and the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

One example is from the book of Exodus when Moses confronts Pharaoh and his sorcerers. Moses then throws down his staff and it is believed that the staff turns into a snake. According to the documentary, the staff actually turned into a crocodile.

Simcha Jacobovichi, executive producer of "Beasts of the Bible," told CBN News that the film will give viewers greater insight into their faith.

The documentary airs at 2:00 p.m. April 11 on the Animal Planet cable channel.
