Imperial Beach, Calif. hosted its 30th Annual Sandcastle Competition over the weekend.
Professional and amateur sculpting teams came out to show off their artistic ability Sunday and vie for the title of master's champion.
Sculptor Carolyn Parker described the contest as "getting together with all of the people that are here on our team and building something out of nothing using water and sand."
More than 350,000 people attended the three-day event, which ended on Sunday afternoon, and $21,000 was offered in cash prizes.
