A Superman comic book recently saved the day for one struggling family facing foreclosure.
Vincent Zurzolo, co-owner of ComicConnect.com and Metropolis Comics and Collectibles in New York, said the family was packing up their belongings when they stumbled across Action Comics issue number one in their basement.
The 1938 comic book is the first in which Superman ever appeared and is worth an estimated quarter of a million dollars.
"It's been really amazing to them knowing that in this house for all these years this comic been sitting there and its just been under their noses," Zurzolo said. "It's astounding"
The family, who requested to remain anonymous, is now holding an auction for the comic.
Meanwhile, the bank is allowing them stay in their home until they get the money to pay off their debts.
"You couldn't have asked for a happier ending," Zurzolo said. "Superman saved the day."
