New York Times best-selling author Donna VanLiere's new book re-tells the story of Jesus's birth, accompanied by vivid watercolor illustrations.

The book is titled The Christmas Journey and has been released by St. Martin's Press.

"The eighty-mile journey of a common carpenter and a simple peasant girl is one of the most powerful stories in history," VanLiere's Web site reads.

"As books go out of print and stories fade from memory, the journey of Joseph and Mary and her delivery inside a common barn continues to bless and inspire hope in people around the world," the statement continued.

Other books by the Ohio native include, The Christmas Shoes and the The Christmas Blessing.
