The latest politically incorrect statement about Christmas this year comes from National Public Radio legal correspondent Nina Totenberg.
Totenberg recently taped a segment for ABC's "Inside Washington" in which she apologized for referring to a Christmas party.
She was discussing the budget when she made, what was in her mind -- a big mistake.
"These agencies, including the Defense Department, don't know how much money they have and for what," Totenberg said during the interview. "I was at a -- you forgive the expression -- a Christmas party at the Defense Department, and people were actually really worried about this."
A number of conservative web sites have since lambasted Totenberg for apologizing for using the expression.
Ironically, Totenberg did an NPR staff interview several years ago in which she sang her favorite Christmas carol and talked about growing up in a Jewish home that also celebrated Christmas.
